1. Wallet
The Wallet feature helps you to transfer much of what you typically store physically, in your wallet, to your phone. Credit cards, membership cards, gift cards and other payment information can now be uploaded digitally into your phone, all conveniently and securely packed into the Wallet feature. Additionally, Wallet allows you to search for and be alerted by local deals and coupons, and even helps you to keep track of your balances.
2. Start Screen
The newly designed start screen for Windows 8 allows you more options than ever before. While the apps are still a flick away, the home start screen can now be customized in any way you choose. You can pick the size of the tiles on the start screen to emphasize what you need and use most.
3. Kids' Corner
Kids love to play with smart phones, and really it can be a great way to keep them occupied for a little while! But, they can also mess things up pretty easily (taking pictures, sending messages, etc.) without meaning to. Kids' Corner is designed to let your kids play with your phone in a designated space that eliminates these risks.
4. Rooms
Essentially a social networking platform within Windows 8, Rooms is an opportunity to create group environments with other users. Invite friends to a Room to share photos, calendar events, messages, etc. in an exclusive, but group-oriented location.
5. NFC Capabilities
NFC capabilities - the process by which data is shared between users merely by touching the phones together - have been expanded for Windows 8. In addition to photos and website links, you can now share contacts or contacts lists through NFC, providing extremely convenient file sharing for Windows users.
